An upcoming exhibition that I’m a part of:
“VisArts presents NextGen 4.0 a juried group exhibition that showcases next generation aspiring artists 17 to 27 years of age from the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia (DMV) area. The annual exhibition offers young artists, who have little to no exhibition record, the opportunity to bring their work to a wider audience.
This year’s exhibition features: Acadia Kandora, Caitlin Angulo, Luiza Carson, Brennan Cox, Matailong Du, Allison Gong, Heather Hannan, Caroline Hatfield, Elli Hernandez, Mia Navarro, Shelley Picot, Nicholas Seitz, Sarah Tilton, You Wu, and Joy Yi.
The exhibition is planned and realized by a dedicated team of gallery interns and volunteers with mentorship from the VisArts gallery staff. “From the call for entry to the preparation and installation of the artwork, the entire process is a learning experience- for the first-time exhibitors as well as the organizers of the exhibition”, says Main. “Watching this exhibition take shape is inspiring. The interns embrace the vision to seek out the undiscovered young artists in our community. They are passionate about bringing their peers’ artwork into the public light”.”
